I think MS's game plan was to be much futher along regarding the adoption of DotNet. Everything is related and the degree of market penatration of Office 11 is directly dependent on the comsumer's adoption of DotNet, XP, and 2000. Microsoft, not doubt, would like to see Office 11 drive the sales of its XP/2000 DotNet platform.
