I tried your suggestion and had a similar problem. The error says, "Error reading file." I was doing a test between two sites and used the:

"USE \\SERVER\VOLUME\FOLDER\TABLENAME" mapping rather than alpha letter mapping and then the test I ran was the following COPY TO C:\JUNK. The process failed at record number 1865 out of 9881 records; this has been the same exact problem all along. There is a disruption of some sort.

What is causing this? If I knew the answer to this problem, I'd be rich(er). We have ordered Windows 2000 Professional and will never use Windows XP ever again.

Something is wrong with Windows XP, especially Service Pack 1. I don't have the time or desire to figure out all of the problems, but some of the symptoms are as found in this same item, which include drive mapping being lost and a very noticeable slowdown in transmission speed.

Microsoft has really made a loser operating system this time. Perhaps there is just too much in that product. Whatever the rpoblem, it does not serve our needs nor our clients' needs reliably and will be canned. What a waste of money for us and our clients!!!
