I found the problem! By following a book created with the Beta version I went down the wrong path. The book did not explain how to access the codebehind page and I presumed the codebehind page was what I was working with. No, I was on the HTML page! My example looked just like an ASP HTML page with a script declaration of which language was used, etc. All is well now.
