there was a similar problem posted in the dFPUG forum with LEFT JOINS which weren't optimized. But there, a VFP6 DBC was used. So this might be an issue with LEFT JOINS in general. Unfortunately I haven't got enough time to do some tests now. Just thought I'll let you know.
