In IE (I'm using the web browser ActiveX control on a VFP form) if I set the textarea's style.width="100%" it works as I required. The thing that is confusing me now is the fact that it doesn't matter what I set the textarea's cols value to, it doesn't seem to make any difference in the appearence. This doesn't seem to be a problem for me and I was just fooling with the setting to see that it would do.

If you wish to benefit of such, you need to avoid using the COLS and rely on a style.
