Is lcl_doc_nm on the first page the same as lcl_doc_nm on the second page? If not your report is working as you have set it up to work, resetting page to 1 when the group changes in which case you should be Starting a new group on a new page.

If lcl_doc_nm is the same on subsequent pages and the _pageno is 1 on both pages, then you probably have another grouping that is resetting the page number or have some corruption in the report form.

If you really do not want the page number to be reset on lcl_doc_nm, uncheck Reset page to 1 for that group.

You indicated that it worked when you Start a new group on a new page. Am I missing something here?

Is your table indexed or sorted in lcl_doc_nm order? If not your grouping on lcl_doc_nm will not properly work anyway.

>Nope. The problem persists. The data grouping is on lcl_doc_nm and is set to "Reset page number to 1 for each group". The report has page header, page title, group header (lcl_doc_nm) and group footer (lcl_doc_nm)and page footer wher the field holding the page number is. In the group header, I have the doctors name and his number which is the lcl_doc_nm.
