Hi Elmer:
>Is lcl_doc_nm on the first page the same as lcl_doc_nm on the second page? >If not your report is working as you have set it up to work, resetting page to 1 when the group changes in which case you should be Starting a new group on a new page.
The second page is still that of the first doctors number. The third page is a different doctor.

>If lcl_doc_nm is the same on subsequent pages and the _pageno is 1 on both pages, then you probably have another grouping that is resetting the page number or have some corruption in the report form.
The lcl_doc_nm is not the same.

>If you really do not want the page number to be reset on lcl_doc_nm, uncheck Reset page to 1 for that group.
It would be nice to have new page numbers for each doctor.

In that it printed the Page numbers without resetting them for each new grouping or doctor number in this case.
>Is your table indexed or sorted in lcl_doc_nm order? If not your grouping on lcl_doc_nm will not properly work anyway.

It is indexed in the table.
