I don't know if it will make a difference, but I've had luck in a similar arrangement but I used GO 1 instead of GO TOP.

The problem is the first EXE updates the record with DATETIME(), but the second EXE only sees the changes some of the time. I have no buffering. I tried a GO TOP in the code, but that did not help.
