I tried turning off Show Stored Procedures as you suggested and everything went well until I tried to preview a report then WHAM! Same old crash.

I also tried verifying the database. WHAM again!

I suspect that previewing or verifying the database also enumerates the procedures. :-(

P.S.
I just discovered that if I turn off the Verify on Refresh and Verify on Driver Change settings that the crash goes away on the preview.
