Thaks for your prompt and nice reply. What I 'really' want to do is to keep the flat-file dBase format in that I will never use the app in a multi-tasking, or multi-computer environment and certainly not on the web. If I can keep it simple that's OK, but if I need to completly re-write, that's OK too. Your insight and comments are appreciated. Also, do I need some sort of "developer's" or "run time" edition? Might the VFP 6.0 work for me just as well as the new 8.0??
