Bruce,

I'm finding the opposite to be true...and I've done my share of the DOS apps. Using Force compiler, rather than Clipper, using DO WHILE loops for data entry screens, more trial and error to get reports to look right, having to create variables with larger scopes than I would prefer (instead of using management objects). SQL Select statements save me *tons* of time over scanning through tables and doing SEEKS to join data.

Maybe Clipper doesn't have these issues...

So I'm trying to bit the bullet, and move what's still out there over to Windows-based.

If you come across a need for a report that needs graphics or you want it to look more professional, you may want to consider VFP. The ccounting system that I am just finishing to convert is for a True Value hardware store. They wanted a better inventory control and the use of bar code readers. Bar codes print and read better in the VFP world, so my client has bit the bullet and are now up and running. (after much pain and agony - the owners keeps asking "Why can't it be as easy as the old program - I say sorry - welcome to windows.)
