Personally, I have never used anti-virus software. I got the email as well, and, as with all attachments, I open them quickly with an editor ( I use EditPlus) and you can quickly see the MZ signature at the beginning of the file. A quick Shift-Delete is my solution to viruses. Also, I always err on the side of caution, and if I am not certain of the source, it goes as well. Have I ever been caught? The answer till now is 'No'. I also use (and prefer) Eudora as my client software. It tends to be less automated than Outlook 2K, although I keep O2K on my machine for development. Eudora also has other benefits.
