Thank you for that insight, The question arose because of my concern of an ever growing move towards Linux which I feel is accelerating. I guess we can only hope as time and demand goes on that Samba and others like it will get more solid.
I have to comment on Vendow support as I have never had any luck in that department anyway and have tended to keep plugging away with my own workarounds and those of my peers
