Good evening Bernard

I have tried two commercial Installer applications, one written in VFP and the other the version of Install Shield that ships with VFP. Each had it's own traits.

I had trouble getting the results that I wanted. I decided to write our own installer. It sucked up a lot of hours, but I think it was worth it for a number of reasons, the most important of which is that it "fits" our style and our applications. I used VFP with API calls, and also some WSH. In retrospect, I think that I would recommend using WSH for as much of the heavy lifting as you can, if you decide to build your own installer.
