Sean, You need to boot your Windows in "safe mode" to stop Windows from loading whatever it is thats causing the problem. Here are some links.

HOW TO: Perform Advanced Clean-Boot Troubleshooting in Windows XP - MSKB#Q316434

Safe-Mode Boot Switches for Windows Boot.ini File - MSKB#Q239780

Troubleshooting Windows 95 Using Safe Mode = MSKB#Q156126

Once in Safe Mode you should be able to access the control panel and remove the application required. If none of these work you might have to edit registry yourself.

>I am trying to fix a problem on a friends computer. She cannot access "My Computer" or directly access her C drive at all. I went to the Microsoft site, and it said there was a compatibility problem with Kodak web camera. It's recommendation was to uninstall the device. The problem is I cannot access the control panel either, plus while she had a web camera it was not a Kodak, but it may still be the problem. Has anyone run into a similar problem like this and if so, how do you fix it or at least gain access to add/remove programs?
