>Clearly, by pushing the U.N. into irrelevance as he has, your President agrees with you.

It is amazing how you blame so much on the U.S. If the U.N. is irrelevant, whose fault is that? It's nobody's fault but the U.N.

>The basis of the U.N. and of "diplomacy" generally is listening and accommodation - to develop a "win-win" in the parlance of today.

But what you fail, and apparently the U.N. fails, to understand is that some people do not understand dimplomacy. Do you not get this? Did diplomacy keep Iraq from invading Iran in 1980. Did dimplomacy keep Iraq from invading Kuwait in 1991? Did diplomacy get Iraq out of Kuwait? Saddam understands one and only one thing: force.

>You feel BIG enough as a country that you can take care of anything you want/need all by yourselves. And, frankly, I have no doubt that you can for a while yet. But this could well result in the implementation of TracyH's "Solution" from the outside, by embargoing and ignoring and otherwise learning to live without the U.S.'s money.

Feel free to do that. Like I posted earlier - To all those countries who don't want our aid: Can we have it back?
