>>Why not? Dont' You understand that here is the point: Today we don't need to travel to USA to make software for Your clients. We are living here, on the "cheap side" and working for "good rate of 11 USD". Michael, we are talking about software: I don't need a truck or ship to transfer my application into USA.

>My reference was in regards to local developers and not foreign developers. Yes, as per your point, people succeeds in that so as Les Pinter is doing, as per what I read in his thread, and I also do it as well with foreign consultants involved in the Universal Thread. It's up to each company to decide what they want to do. The base purpose of this thread was about the 11.00$ US and I seem to understand that it was targeted for a local developers, where in this case, I still believe in my opinion on it.

Michel;

In 1995 there was a television program on CBS, about two programmers from Russia, who were living in the United States and working for Hewlett Packard. They were paid $14 a month and the money was sent to their families in Russia. They also received food and shelter for their work. However, they were locked inside a house with guards for over one year as if they were prisoners. One day the men escaped and went to the authorities. The story appeared on television and from what I have learned nothing happened to HP.

The job market in Silicon Valley (San Jose, California) is very bad, especially for IT. We lost at least 127,000 programming jobs during the last two years, and this does not include areas north of us like San Francisco. As far as VFP positions, we have many outstanding members of the VFP community out of work.

IT salaries are down in this area and requirements are high. More work for less money – the ideal for any company.
