One of the reasons I asked about printing, is that prior to VFP 6 SP3, there were issues with certain printer drivers (spefically HP and Lexmark). However, these would only cause a crash when printing, and shouldn't cause data loss.

How about video cards? If you can establish a pattern with the machines (namely same card and driver) it might help you. That's where I'd look first.
