Hi Ken,

We run FoxToolbox so I guess we can answer your question. I assume you're asking about the DeskNotes. We have several and really like them. However, it should be noted the reason they are called DeskNotes is that they look and feel like a Notebook, but the internal components, (processor, memory), are desktop or workstation equivialant, not the weak sister Mobile Processors and low profile memory.

To do this they eliminated the internal battery, so if using a notebook in situations where an internal battery comes into play, it may not be the system to buy. There is an external battery, which is quite small, for use where no power outlet is available, but it is optional and adds about $100 to the cost.

The neatest thing about the DeskNotes besides the extra power is that if you don't buy one maxed out, you can upgrade the processor and memory by opening the bottom panels provided and pop in an off-the-shelf P4 processor and additional DDR memory at much lower cost than upgrading a standard laptop or notebook.

Regards,

Jim Eddins
