Be fair! Canada's only had 136 years of Independence so they need time to catch up! :o)

Get Canada to make economic changes that would help alliviate the reliance on the US economy. Get the country to stand on its own two feet as it were. Or better yet, get Canada to be part of the US then you would have a voice.
