Thanks for the tip. I looked up the book you suggested and found it at Amazon.com. I'm inclined to buy it but wondered if you already had the book? If you do, could you tell me whether this book would help me accomplish what I'm after.

I am already familiar with instantiating an Outlook object within a VFP application and having VFP create an outgoing e-mail message, for example. (I imagine learning the object models for other Office applications like Word or Excel will be the same.) But what I'm really after is whether the Outlook object contains methods that will enable me to query Outlook data -- receive a last name as a parameter and search for a specific Contact, for example -- then return the contact information to my VFP app for display? Then, would I be able to send the UPDATE back to the Outlook server?
