Probably, the only place it would be a worry is on a Win95 box running IE 4 or before. You might want to take a look at the first in the series of articles that the late Ed Rauh and I did on the WSH in the VFUG (www.vfug.org). It appeared in the September, 2000 issue of the newsletter and is available on-line at the site.

The only reason I suggest your reading it is that you know what platforms and browsers are in use. You might find, after reading the article, that you might be able to employ the WSH after all. Ed, in his usual thorough manner, wrote most, if not all, the stuff on where it's installed and what installs it.
