Thank you for your suggestion. And since this is being CC to everyone who responded to my thread, thank you all for your suggestions. I tried several different lines of code in several different variations to no avail. I have come to the conclusion that the problem is Office 2000. By dumb luck I happen to run the program on a computer that had Office XP (My computer has Office 2000). The program worked perfectly. Without changing code I then ran the program on my machine. My computer had the invisible Excel open. I then ran the program on a machine that had Office 97. The program worked perfectly. I even installed the most recent service pack from Microsoft. It still did not help.
