I don't quite follow the details, but you seem to be describing a flaw that should be easily demonstrable. An explicit example with Excel could make this clearer. Are you now referring to cases where a non-empty cIID argument is passed?
If nobody from Microsoft jumps in on this, it might be a good idea to post another message directly to the attention of John Koziol, with a title something like this:
BUG: early binding via CREATEOBJECTEX crashes with C5 in VFP7 and VFP8. It's possible that this thread escaped notice because of your "quaint" choice of wording in the previous title.;-)
