>this weekend, Bush administration attempts to make TV say nothing about american prisoners, is, imo, another demonstration of good democraty. And what about iraki prisoners? ach, the question wasn't important at this moment, you're right.

The Bush administration attempted to curtail the media showing of American POWs for a few reasons:

1. It is against the Geneva conventions to parade POWs on tv or in public as it may be humuliating to the POW.
2. The film definitely showed Iraqis abusing the Geneva conventions and this is painful to the families of the POWs.
3. The families of the POWs were not even notified (the military did not even know yet who was dead or a POW or just missing from that skirmish) before their children's images were shown on the media - some shot in the head by their capturers.
4. Iraqi EPOWs are given access to the Red Cross, food ,water, allowed to worship per their beliefs, medical attention, and treated humanely.

As I was an interrogator for the U.S. Army for a number of years, I can speak personally from previous experience during past conflicts. I do not see ANY comparison between the treatment of the two.
