Hi Laura,

Thanks for the suggestion. Turns out that this view has a couple of conditionally derived fields, using iif(). The update name on those fields was pretty funky, composed of the last several characters of the iif() function. I changed the update names to "Update1", "Update2", etc. I'm not sure what effect this will have, but I figure that those funky update names can only cause trouble. Unfortunately, this is one of those wierd, inconsistent, un-reproducable issues.

I'll keep my fingers crossed!

>You might try checking the view definition in detail. I've seen similar symptoms when there was a problem with my underlying view. I ran GenDBC and checked the properties of the view and of each field. The problem was with a field that wasn't even being updated - just a related field from a lookup table. I don't remember exactly what the problem was, but I seem to remember that it related to either the UpdateName of the field or the Tables property of the view. I can tell you that in my case it sure didn't jump right out at me! <g>
