Just another instance of how our aid is more political than humanitarian. Keep the public $ at home I say. If Americans were truly knowledgeable about humanitarian needs in other countries, I think most would voluntarily contribute (those that could). Many do not like the idea of the government deciding which country is more deserving and then later to find out that those countries were more deserving not because of humanitarian reasons but political ones.
