Point well taken. I will have to ask the customer about their AV on the server. What still puzzles me, though, is that the server has remained the same and the performance only has started getting bad when more than one XP workstation is accessing the shared data.

Are there perhaps some more items to look at with regards to how XP interacts with Win2k Server?
