>Hey, so you found a fix, good. It sounds like caching, but so what - if it works, it works, and we will not argue with a working solution!

Well, more an explanation than a fix, although I'll probably use it when I know I need to test something and I need to go in and out of design mode for a particular form repeatedly...
As Thomas guessed, it is not the form, but the files in the DE. If they are open in any other VFP (or FPW) on the machine, then there is no delay in opening the form in design mode.

I still find it strange, the complete lack of interest for this issue from vfp team members. I discovered this almost by chance, I can't believe they did not know the explanation - if they did not, maybe they can put it on their work to do list.

On NT4/98/95/NT Server printing was always very smooth. This on the exact same machines with only different OS, this huge print difference happens. We have given up on a solution, except to keep the printers warm :-)

Same here with the delay, didn't notice the click, maybe they happen... - and then you wonder why the global warming, los niños and las niñas ;)

A 20MB file copy from server-to-server is now instantaneous, it's almost unbelievable it's so fast. Again, exact same machines.

Thanks for all.
