The button target was "newwindow".
The msg links target was "msgframe".

When you click on the button the fisrt time, the target was "newwindow",
since IE cant find it, it open a new window wich respond to the "newwindow" reference.

When you click on the button in this new window, the target was always "newwindow",
but this time the reference exist and IE open the link in the same "newwindow".

Clear enough?
