I find the help file confusing: Using SQL Passthrough Cursors under Data Classes. Is there any examples available you know of?

>You can use a connection string "on the fly".
How would I do that? According to me the DNS entry should exist.

I must add that Jim did not even try to confince me to look at his stuff rather than to use tools available to me.

>As whether RV's are flavour of the months at DevTeach, well, it depends who you listen to. RV's have been doing a great job in many applications for years. In fact, they have been one of VFP's strong points. Now we have VFP8 and cursor adapaters, there is something else to think about. If you listen to Jim Duffy/Rod Paddock, then they would not advocate the use of RV's - period. However, they wont be upgrading Dataclass to use cursor adapters either, a more native technology.
