I think Microsoft somehow need to develop a new mind set. Microsoft need to move away from the mind set of taking customers prisoner and holding them hostage, to a mind set of serving customer and allow them to have choice between competing products. This would allow a customer to be loyal to Microsoft based on service, quality of product, and price, rather than ... well you know. It would also allow a customer to select the product that best satisfies particular needs. If Microsoft insists on only working within itself, I feel it will eventually lead to her distruction.
