From my experience, a huge part of FoxPro application is developed by rather small companies that sell a business solutions to dozens or hundreds of customers and typically support their apps themselves. If you ever had to suddenly suddenly send out 200 CDs with a software product where you can't control the appearance of the setup and handle 200 phone calls to guide people through that setup, you would might think different about what the cost of separate SQL server actually is. <s>

It's great, but it's definitely not free.
