Does anyone know why this might be happening or have any ideas:

We have a free table (located on a server) that has a record length of 1088 bytes (consisting of 88 fields, three of which are memo fields) and, 121204 records. We are trying to index to an IDX file on a C(20) field and it takes anywhere from a few seconds to 43 minutes. When we watch the odometer (set at 100) it increments every 10 seconds. This is a sporadic issue. I, personally, have tried to index at 7:00am and it was very fast, whereas, I tried it again at 10:00am and it probably would have taken over 30 minutes.

We do not have much (helpful) Network support, so we are trying to go through what it is not, to prove that it is Network related.

Any help/comments would be greatly appreciated.
