At one point I would check in something and the other programmer wouldn't be able to see my changes even after doing get latest files, on one occassion I remember the update project list fixed this problem (back when the update project list DID something). Now we don't have that problem, we both see each other changes.

Yes, and when I originally set it up as a shadow folder from the VSS Administrator it automatically put the files to the shadow folder but that's it, then it went to sleep, I have to do a get latest to that folder in order to get the latest changes which is a big pain.
