Most of my applications are using Oracle and DB2 as a database. I am also maintaining applications which I made which use VFP tables. I think my advantage of using VFP tables is : 1) Speed 2)Familiarity with the VFP database. (I think network traffic could nullify my first argument).
In my opininon the advantage of using Oracle or DB2 is security and reliability and that they are widely used and accepted.
