That's a "feature" when your columns are horizontal, and you have a data grouping item. The group header is what ends up printing in column1, row1 in this case.

The workaround is to copy the objects from your detail into the group header. In the OnExit band for the group header, put a UDF call to a function that does a SKIP. This Skip prevents the same record from showing up in both columns 1 and 2 of row 1.
