We then registered it on a remote computer running Windows XP using RegServer and Clireg32 with DCOM. We are able to create the object from the local computer using createobjectex(), and we can call a simple addition function from the com object and get a result. The problem we are having is that the local computer just hangs when we call a function from the com object that opens a table.

Datasession is private ?
Has access right to tables and finds them ?
Not trying to show an error message ?
You might want to include an error rotuine and return error message.
