This is an annoying "feature" of the report writer. To work around it, you can do the following:
- make the field wider than necessary so another full word can fit
- Add a shape over the top of the end of the field that you don't want to show
- Mark the shape as opaque and set the pen to None (so you don't see an outline)
- Make sure the Front-to-Back order is correct .. meaning the shape is in front of the text object
Not the cleanest solution .. but it works.
