If I understand correctly, you have problems only with setting the correct value into the combo box (your lengthy description)?

If I am correct, I need to know the type of combo box you are using (combo, dbcombo, ...) and the style property setting.

When the user is adding or editing a record for table 1, they have a combo list box (populated by the contents of table 2), from which to choose an entry. The auto-generated record number is stored in table 1, to identify the record in table 2 for that entry. What I am having trouble with, is when the user goes to edit a record, I am trying to display the correct entry from table 2.
