I would not do application and web hosting on the same machine. While technically, you can use W2K Pro, there are some license limitations that will prohibit you from doing much web hosting on it.

>Hi,
>I'm new to web services and I'm planning on building a distributed app for asset tracking. We currently have a standalone Windows 2000 Pro machine. In order to host the app and allow real time operation across the web, do I need to change the O/S to a server version? I've seen that Web Connect needs to run on a 'server', but can I use Active Server Pages instead and would that allow me to bipass the server idea? I am planning on using Voodoo Controls but my client doesn't want to spend alot of money so I was hoping to avoid additional costs. I also want to use the machine for accounting and to host Goldmine. Any suggestions?
