I also had previous version of VS.NET installed and my upgrade went without a problem. Just the Prerequisite disk took a very long time. I wish I could offer you more to solve your problem.

>This must have something to do with having a previous version of VS.NET installed on the box. I successfully installed VS.NET 2003 on my secondary development box - after uninstalling the existing VS.NET.

>>Hi,

>>I just purchased .NET 2003 and am trying to install the product. I successfully installed the Prerequisites and the when it goes back to the main "Visual Studio .NET Setup" screen, the only option available is to install the Prerequisites again (i.e. Step 2 - Install Visual Studio.NET is greyed-out.)

>>I exited set-up a couple of times and re-booted (after waiting 10 minutes watching the screen to see in Step 2 would be enabled).

>>Bottom line, is that I can't get past installing the Prerequisites (which did install correctly).

>>I have WinXP Pro on a P4 with 512MB Ram. I also have visual studio.Net version 1 on this P.C.
