Steve,
Although I'll vouch for the complete discombobulation of a grid when trying to change record sources, I find that it happens even if I've got a view as a record source. Very disconcerting and I'm trying to find the best manner of getting around it so that it's at least not so visible to the user. The worst part is that the grid definition is also out of whack and I've lost some custom control definitions that might have been in some of the columns.
