http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/shellcc/platform/commctls/editcontrols/editcontroltextoperations.asp?frame=true#wordwrap_linebreaks - "Also in multiline edit controls, an application can specify the ES_WANTRETURN style to request that the system insert a carriage return when the user presses the ENTER key in the edit control." I read this as indicating that VFP is supposed to go to the next control on ENTER if there's only one line, but if there's more than one line, it is allowed to handle ENTER as a carriage return.

I'm pretty sure that it's Windows standard behavior for SHIFT+ENTER to insert a line feed, but I can't find a reference to back that up right now.
