Then there is the wild life, a Gator was just put down after it attacked and killed a small boy. Orange Count (unincorporated Orlando) was originally named Mosquito County and changed in the 1800's to bring the tourists in, I'm not making this up! Insects thrive here making it easy to mistake a cockroach for a small car. And what is up with the love bugs?

Great to talk to you!. I wish we could sit down and talk! I had lots of friends in Orlando. Some were radio amateurs as I am. I had a friend that worked for the City of Orlando, Herb Castle. My NCOIC from the Air Force retired in Orlando. We were stationed in Kansas City (Richards-Gabeur) together.

I have to contact you off line to tell you some of the stories.

While at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, we were about to pay for our tickets when we noticed threatening clouds above. The two giggling girls taking the patrons money said, “Gee, I hope it rains so they will close down the park”! I said, “If they close the park due to rain do they give refunds”? “No, was the reply”! I asked, “What does DisneyWorld do in Orlando during the summer? Do they just close the park everyday”? They had no clue what I was talking about.
