Here are my specs: Dell OptiPlex GX260, P4, 2.26GHz, 256MB RAM, Win 2KPro fully patched, and I have no performance problems with VFP8 development. I also develop on a Dell Inspiron 8100 laptop, P3, 1GHz, 256MB RAM, Win XP Pro fully patched with no speed problems either. When you are having performance problems, you might check your task manager, and see what kind of CPU usage percentage you are having. Click on the CPU column header until you have the processes listed in descending order by percent usage.

>I started to use VFP (about 1-2 weeks ago) and am experiencing slow performance while doing/using some features (ex: IntelliSense). I convinced my client to supply me with a better performing PC (today I'm using an AMD K6 II, 350 mhz with 196mb RAM) and he told me to tell him what configuration Microsoft recomends for a good VFP usage.

Visual FoxPro 8 System Requirements web page (
http://msdn.microsoft.com/vfoxpro/productinfo/sysreqs.asp) and for my surprise there I could read:

Processor: PC with Pentium-class processor

Memory: 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM minimum; 128 MB or higher recommended

>I already have a
"PC with Pentium-class processor" and even
more than the
128 MB recommended, but VFP doesn't performs ok in my PC!

>Does MS believes those figures are for real or am I doing something wrong? What should be a
decent configuration for good performance?
