Now I see what you're talking about. I tried in both VFP 7 and VFP 8, it did exactly what your describing in VFP 7 but worked correctly in VFP 8.

I'll keep trying to see if there is a work-around in VFP 7.

The behavior is fine from the command window (which ignores the NOWAIT keyword, anyway, since NOWAIT is implicit from the command window), but not when executed as a statement in a routine.
