In XP the setting are File Commit & File Caching the rest don,t exist in XP Client, also set Packet Burst to off.
From prior experience I have had continuing problems with Acer gear until you get the latest Bios, Video, Nic, Motherboard & mouse driver updates, to put it mildly they are a pain in the arse.!!!

Also there is a high probability that the motherboards are defective.
