Hmm, ja i think i remeber something like Beep(), but i couldn't find it in the msdn help (i am using Vfp6 SP 5, sorry forgot to mention that).

Anyway, you got me interested in the windows media encoder SDK solution.
I downloded the media encoder the other day to be able to play a live stream webcam. but i think we are talking here about two different pairs of shoes. what i saw in 'that' encoder you could play video with sound.

could you please give me some more instructions on how to research this better, or even some code examples?

even though i only need something simple here, i would like to learn about some more professional way of doing this for future apps.
