Goto http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/Download/ and get SharpDevelop. It's free and it lets you write those little bits of code and compile and run them. It, like VS.Net likes projects best, but it's happy with simple .cs files too. It also has intellisense. No debugger unfortunately.
